Adult Classes

Adult Religious Education (RE) programs offer a wide variety of classes and activities for adults who would like to continue their lifelong learning and participate in ongoing enrichment opportunities. Adult RE classes range from understanding religion in contemporary society to experiencing different personal spiritual practices.

Our Monthly Faith Development Friday evenings include both an Adult RE discussion group and a Family Journey Group, which consists of one meeting for parents and one for children focused around the monthly topic and discussion packet.

Adult RE courses offered in the past included Taoism and Hebrew Wisdom Literature, Unitarian Universalism 101, Adult Coming of Age, and One Year to Live: Changes one would make should time be limited.  Ongoing discussions and classes have included Spanish Speaking, Reading Emerson, Science and Spirituality, Movies, and Play Readings. Many participated in a congregational reading of "The Death of Josseline, Immigration Stories from the Arizona Borderlands." The Adult RE courses are led by the CUUC ministerial staff or lay members of the congregation and there is no charge for most of the courses offered.
