I haven't been getting to this blog window very much recently. I don't know why: there certainly have been things to blog about. The on-going failure to pass health care reform (I hate that). Occasional snowdays delivered up at times when I can stay home and look out the window (I love that). Jay Leno kicked out of the 10 p.m. hour (a victory for narrative television). Olympic coverage that showed a lot of things besides American victories (not that I'm against American victories, but I liked the balanced coverage). Disasters in Haiti, in Chile (where in the world are people safe?) And now, finally, signs of spring.
And also, now, I have something big to blog about: my Partner Church trip to Negros Island in the Philippines. I will be on a plane to Manila, via Seoul, in less than 8 hours (and on that plane for more than 8 hours). Zachary Morrice, a youth from this congregation, is traveling with me, the first youth to go on a Partner Church trip to the Philippines. We will be there for 7 days, traveling all around Negros Island and visiting most of our UU Church of the Philippines congregations.
There will be pictures. There will be words and stories coming back your way -- I'm not sure when, because I'm not sure how much internet connection I will have. But stay tuned for news of the new dialogue that we are creating with a congregation in Doldol, the Philippines.
